Summer progress on 2022 Building Excellence Capital Construction Levy projects

We are excited to welcome students back to a newly rebuilt and enlarged Rockwell Elementary this school year! Approved by voters as part of the 2022 Building Excellence Capital Construction levy, staff began setting up their classrooms this week with students and families attending a meet and greet at their new school today. Site work will continue through December 2026 at the Rockwell site.

At Eastlake High School, students will have 12 new classrooms and a new library when they return to school next week. This addition was also part of the voter-approved 2022 Building Excellence Capital Construction levy and will provide additional permanent classroom space for high school students on the east side of the district.

Progress is being made on the rebuild and enlarge project at Alcott Elementary. A "Topping Out" ceremony will be held on Friday, August 28 to signify the last steel beam being placed at the new building. This project, funded by the Building Excellence Capital Construction levy approved by voters in 2024 is anticipated to open in fall 2027. Check out this video from Cornerstone Construction showing day two of steel beams being erected on the site.

Construction continues to make steady progress on the Emerson Campus rebuild and enlarge project as crews advance foundation work and begin vertical construction. Recent activities have included site grading, underground utility installation, foundation formwork, concrete placement, and the erection of the first wood-framed walls. The building footprint is now clearly visible, with foundation elements complete in several areas and the structure beginning to rise above grade.

On Friday, teachers and district staff will tour the construction site to see the progress firsthand and learn more about the new facility. The tours offer an exciting opportunity for educators to experience the scale of the project and see the vision for the new school taking shape.

Over the coming weeks, crews will continue foundation and framing work as more of the building structure becomes visible.

Construction continues to progress steadily at the Redmond High School Addition Project. Crews are actively installing structural steel, completing foundation work and preparing additional areas of the site for vertical construction. The building footprint is becoming more visible as the project moves into the next phase of construction and significant progress continues across the site including a second-floor connection above the existing commons. 

The City of Redmond's ADA curb ramp project along 104th Avenue NE remains underway. Please drive carefully and watch for construction activity and traffic control measures in the area.
